trudeau1"I have been working on motorcycles for a few years and was looking for a new project when I came across a low mileage '83 XR 1000 that had been laid down early in its life. It was dented and beat up but had pretty low mileage which was perfect because I have always liked Harley's race bikes.

"I came across Phil Little's web site with his dirt track inspired parts early in my searches and I really liked the way his parts looked compared to others I had seen. Phil was great about answering my questions and on his site I saw another XR 1000 that had been converted to a street tracker using Phil's parts.

"I ended up making contact with the other XR's owner and he provided me with lots of details about his build and also had great things to say about his parts and having worked with Phil in putting the kit for his bike together. He also let me know that Phil had recently increased his fuel tanks to 3 gallons which was great as I had a '77 Sportster before this that had the stock 2.2 gallon tank and I felt like I was always either coming from or going to get fuel.

"Phil has done a great job maintaining the classic dirt tracker look of his tank while increasing the capacity. I am very happy with my decision to go with Phil's parts, he has been a pleasure to work with and his parts look great."
